Charlie McGimsey grew up in the Sacramento area and has been playing drums since the age of 12. He has performed with some very well known bands.
He began in Stoneground. The band had an incredible sound and produced four records on Warner Brothers, and he later joined Steel Breeze. They had a top 40 hit, “You Don’t Want Me Anymore”. Steel Breeze toured with Hall & Oates, The Who, and was involved with the movie soundtrack “Witchboard“.
Charlie has performed with the legendary Bo Diddley, Peter Stroud, Sammy Hagar, Tommy Tutone, Eric Martin and has toured the U.S., Guam and Japan.
Opening for Huey Lewis & The News, REO Speedwagon, Sammy Hagar, Eddie Money, Starship, Night Ranger, Peter Frampton, Ronnie Montrose, Edgar Winter, Loverboy, Elvin Bishop, Lynyrd Skynyrd. BTO and many more.
